and services. Although each website is unique, we supply
standard packages that cover most requirements. Extra pages
or special requirements can be added to any of these at

Website Creation
Some features are common to all Canny Publishing websites:
- Access to your site to make content modifications to
defined areas.
- Inclusive use of templates, photographs and graphics
from our libraries
- Setting up the website host and registering your domain
name (if required)
- Email facilities
- Website statistics
- Search engine submission
- One month initial support

Website Services

and expand your website. These are charged at £15 per
hour. Fixed prices and limit prices can be agreed for these
tasks. The services available include: |
- Photography, including panoramic views and virtual tours
- Scanning and OCR services
- Graphic design and logos
- Content creation
- Content uploading
- Database creation
- Software development

Support
Support for any modifications, content updates, or technical
issues (outside the initial inclusive support), is charged
at £15 per hour. Fixed prices and limit prices can
be agreed for these tasks.

Website Hosting
(i.e. the host server on which your website will run)
Canny Publishing does not offer hosting services
but we will share our experience of suppliers with you and
can help you select a suitable host. We will also set up
the host for you as part of your package, if required.
Website hosting varies in price from as little as £20
per annum up to £200 depending on the features required.
Large data storage, special features, e-commerce or dedicated
servers cost more (£200 upwards). Reliability is an important consideration for any website.
This is often described us "uptime" (i.e. the
percentage of time the server is working). Suppliers often
quote 99.9% uptime which equates to 45 minutes "downtime"
in a month (i.e. the maximum time your website would be
unavailable to users). Higher uptime, such as 99.99%, is
available. |

Domain Names
(i.e. the name by which your website will be accessed, e.g.
www.mysite.co.uk)
Canny Publishing does not supply domain names directly
but will help you select a suitable name and set this up
for you as part of your package, if required . Registration
for 2 years cost from £4 upwards for .uk domains,
and from £10 upwards for .com.
